time. We work in association with Carolinas Medical Center (Mercy Hospital
- Pineville) and Presbyterian Hospital.

Dr. Emmett C. Mathews Jr., MD, FACC,
has been practicing cardiology in Charlotte for 22 years. His
education took him to medical school at the University of Virginia.
He completed his internship and residency at the Medical College of
Virginia. At Georgetown University School of Medicine he completed
his Fellowship in Cardiology. His primary specialty is
cardiovascular disease and is certified by the American Board of
Cardiology. During the Vietnam conflict Dr. Mathews served as a
medical officer in the United States Navy. He is a leader in cardiac
ultrasound procedures within the cardiology community. His passion
for patient care will provide a care plan that will benefit the
patient and family. His vision for Randolph Cardiology is to provide
ultimate patient satisfaction and cardiac care to the community in a
caring, warm and relaxed environment. Dr. Mathews is an avid
outdoorsman. He enjoys horseback riding, hunting, fly fishing and
Cindy Westover is the Registered Nurse
for the Randolph Cardiology practice. She has been associated with
Dr. Mathews since 1996 while at the Nalle Clinic. After the change
at the clinic she and Dr. Mathews moved over to the Mid Carolina
Cardiology practice. There she served in various areas of the
practice as a nurse for many different cardiologists (including Dr.
Mathews), coumadin clinic coordinator, sleep study nurse and other
tasks with in the practice. She graduated from East Carolina
University school of Nursing, in the top 5 percent of her class.
Ever since graduation she has been involved in cardiac care. When
she is not at the office she enjoys traveling and family time with
her two sons and their children. She really loves the “gamaw” role.
Her goal's for Randolph Cardiology is to provide ultimate patient
satisfaction and cardiac care to the community in a caring, warm,
and relaxed environment. This is the goal of all at Randolph
Marty Westover is the Business Manager
for Randolph Cardiology. After 35 yrs. of employment in corporate
America he has returned to the healthcare environment. Twenty-five
years of his corporate experience was spent in medical imaging with
the largest manufacturer and service provider in the areas of
radiology, cardiology, ultrasound and nuclear medicine. He has
served in various roles such as field engineer, business manager,
service sales and marketing. He is a graduate of Montreat
University, Business Administration program. His passion is for
customer satisfaction. That is a key initiative for him in providing
patient services with in the medical community. He enjoys traveling
and many of the family related times as mentioned by his wife Cindy
(yes you can work as husband and wife in the same building). His
favorite role is being “gampaw” to his two grandchildren.
